gojiramitch Listening to this is like observing a devastating natural disaster and the trauma that follows. A truly beautiful, crushing album. Favorite track: Them Colonies.

Martin SK A deep fog over a desolate and bleak ocean. No sight for miles in every direction. The quiet waters are unnerving because within them, hidden by the fog, lies a deadly beast.

Crushing guitars. Crashing drums. Pounding bass. Intense walls of ambient and drone. One of the darkest post-rock albums I've heard and it's an absolute beauty. The more you listen, the more you find. Highly recommended for any fan of dark instrumental music. You need FNAS in your library. Favorite track: Them Colonies.

about

Fourteen Nights At Sea has fashioned a third full-length album of tremendous beauty and depth, played with a dark, wistful restraint throughout. Minor Light is eerie and iridescent, composed and captured with mesmerising attention to detail, guided by the band’s most intricate and intimate guitar passages to date, full of delicate transitions and soulful punctuations. While the band works with the transition between Drew Watson and long time friend / engineer Lara Soulio, a stronger FNAS works its slow build and burn with newfound patience, sinuousness and ferocity.

It is tricky to distill what has made FNAS so compelling to so many critics and fans over their almost decade-long history. More than ever, the players keep their heads down, creating wonderful multi-movement instrumental works, overflowing with attention to tone and timbre.

The LP is pressed on virgin vinyl and comes in a heavyweight jacket with black flood printed inner sleeves and download code for a digital copy of the album.

about

Fourteen Nights At Sea Melbourne, Australia

FOURTEEN NIGHTS AT SEA is a ship with no captain. Borne of the tides, some untold force propels them, ever gaining momentum. Melbourne’s premier instrumental post-rock horde have become a fearsome, thoughtful force to be drank in, wholly and willingly.
